John Robert Poindexter IV, 44, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012 in Odessa at Medical Center Hospital.

He was born January 13, 1968 to Barbara and John Robert Poindexter III in Lubbock, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his son, Phillip Poindexter father, John Poindexter grandfather, Howard Allen and uncle, William Allen.

Survivors include Roddy John Robert Poindexter II Jack Jackson Poindexter sister, Annette and Woodie Morris brother, Carl and Kami Poindexter niece, Brooklynne nephew, C.J. mother, Barbara Poindexter grandmother, Dorothy Allen uncle, Pete and Linda Allen aunts, Annabelle Plowman, and Sharon and Jim Barris special inlaws, Gail and Dawl Johnson, and John Jackson and best friend, Jape Pritchard.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, with a funeral service held in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012 with Jimmy Braswell to officiate. Interment to be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
