Johnny Cook

Johnny "John" Dwight Cook, age 70, of Odessa, TX passed away on October 28, 2015 in Odessa.

Visitation will be at 5:00-7:00 pm, Friday, October 30, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Curtis Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
John was born on December 9, 1944 to Norvin J. Cook and Edith May Boland Cook in Odessa, TX. He was raised in Odessa and played football for the Ector Eagles and went on to graduate in 1963. He married his childhood sweetheart, Jane Town Cook on January 13, 1963 in Colorado City, TX. They were just shy of their 53rd anniversary. John spent the better part of fifty years in the oil and gas industry, developing a vast knowledge. John thoroughly enjoyed hunting and shooting black powder rifles with his brother Bob and grandson Jarred and other members of the Black Powder Association. He had a great love for the outdoors where he brought up his daughter, Kelley and her Aunt Kay. They spent many weekends boating and riding motorcycles. He also looked forward to attending his three grandsons numerous school and sporting activities.

John is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Frank Cook.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Jane Cook, daughter Kelley Evenson, grandsons, Jarred Mathews and Trent Evenson, great grandson Jordan Mathews and his elder brother Bob Cook and his wife Janett and sister in law Jan Cook.
