Johnny Hoggard

Johnny Paul Hoggard, age 70, of Odessa, Texas, passed from this life on earth to eternity with the Lord on March 17, 2015 in Odessa.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Johnny's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 1601 East 42nd Street, Odessa, Texas, with Rev. Brad Bennett officiating.

Johnny was born in Springfield, Missouri to Kenneth Hoggard and Josephine Baird Hoggard on June 19, 1944. He moved to Odessa, Texas when he was 19 and made Odessa his home. Johnny worked for National Bank of Odessa for many years and became known for his good heart and honesty and the fact that he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Over the years, he spent most of his time in the car business.

Johnny had many accomplishments, but the thing most important in his life after his relationship with the Lord was being Grandpa Johnny to Kendre and Kelsey and Papa to Christian and Marcus. His world lit up when his grandkids were around.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Cathy Zant Hoggard; sons, David Hoggard and wife Stephanie, Paul Hoggard and wife Carol; daughter, Michelle Brown, all of Odessa; sister, Carolyn Sue Hermens and husband Ted of Elsah, Illinois, and grandchildren, Kendre Hoggard, Kelsey Hoggard, Christian Brown and Marcus Brown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Luke's United Methodist Church or to the Amber Zant Bice Memorial Volleyball Scholarship at UTPB, 4901 E. University Avenue, Odessa, Texas 79762.
