Johnny Janosik, Sr.

Johnny Frank Janosik, Sr., 58 of Odessa, died at Medical Center Hospital Sunday morning, April 6, 2008. He was born in Odessa on September 27, 1949 to Joe and Mae Griggs Janosik, Sr. Johnny was reared and educated in Odessa and entered the US Army and served a tour of duty in Vietnam. After his discharge he returned to Odessa and began a career in the oil industry first working in well servicing then becoming a pumper. He was currently working as a contract pumper. He married Patricia Thompson in Odessa on April 17, 1974. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph John Janosik, Sr. and Myrtle Mae Gaile and his sister Helen Mae Simpson.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years Patricia Janosik; his daughter Michelle Witthuhn and her husband Ken of Irving, their children Elizabeth and Drew. His son Johnny Janosik, Jr. and his wife Sally of Odessa, and their daughter Allison. Brothers; Steve Janosik and wife Mary of San Antonio; Joe Janosik, Jr. of Odessa and Rudy Janosik and wife Wanda of Simms, TX. Sisters; Pauline Sutton of Odessa and Ann Mathis of Leander, TX.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow with military honors rendered by Odessa VFW POST 4372 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
