Joshua Harrell

Joshua William Grantham Harrell, 18, born April 6, 1992, was called home by our Lord November 20, 2010.

From the moment of his birth, his loving spirit and kind heart shinned through his big beautiful blue eyes. He spent his whole life loving and caring for all he claimed as family. In Joshs eyes there were no friends, just family, and he spent his sweet, short life caring for and helping any and all in need.

He attended Milam Elementary, where he learned Suzuki violin and percussion drums. His love for music continued for the rest of his life. He went to Nimitz Junior High School, Permian High School and was looking forward to attending UTPB.

He was a red belt in TaeKwonDo and loved boxing. He was a superb marksman and athlete with a love for baseball and basketball.

He was a cub scout of Pack 58 and a life scout of Troop 34 of Odessa, Texas. He had full intention to continue with scouting once his nephews were old enough to join.

The light that he gave all who loved him will always glow deep within our hearts. In memory of our sweet son, please pass on a random act of kindness.

He is survived by his mother, Raquel Lopez sister, Nicole Harrell nephews, Matthew Richmond and Michael Gaudin his father, James G. Harrell stepmom, Cathy H. Chan maternal grandmother, Helga L. Hillin grandfather, Robert N. Hillin paternal grandfather, Bob Harrell grandmother, Mary Carpenter stepgrandfather, Tony Carpenter aunt Yvonone Adkisson uncles, Mark H. Lopez, John W. Harrell, Bob Harrell, and Houston Adkisson cousins, Hector A. Lopez, Marcos Lopez and Brisa Romana Lopez.

He is preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Hector J. Lopez.

Viewing will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 24 and Friday, November 26. Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, November 27, 2010 at St. Andrews Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Jimmy Braswell officiating.
