Joyce Tanner

Joyce Oleta Tanner, age 79, of Brownfield, Texas, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012 in Brownfield, Texas.

She was born April 26, 1932 in Ringling, Oklahoma to Oral Lee Cates and Lou Cindy Lowry Cates. She moved to Odessa when she was in the third grade. She married Billy Earl Tanner on September 4, 1948 in Odessa. She worked for Dunlaps in Odessa and J.C.Penny in Odessa and San Angelo.

Survivors include her son, Randy S. Tanner, retired from the U.S. Navy, his wife Betty of Newport News, VA. and their three children, Christopher of Kansas, Nathan, and Sarah, both of Newport News, VA her son Timothy Tanner of Brownfield her daughter, LeeAnn Gains of Seminole nine great grandchildren, Michael, Jonathan, and Luke of Newport News, VA., Angel of Seminole, Texas and Ethan and Gabby of Florida, Kayleen, Kevin and Landan of Kansas and a niece Leora Black of Odessa.

Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, March 9, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Kevin Bullard officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
