Julie Walker

Julie Walker, 89, of Odessa, passed away November 7, 2024. Visitation will be Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, November 15, 2024, at 2 pm at Crossroads Church with Rev. David Newton officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Julie Florence Walker was born August 1, 1935, in Woodrow, Texas to the late Grover Cleveland and Hocial Ellen Qualls.

 She was raised in Elida, New Mexico and married her high school, sweetheart Wendell Lloyd Walker. Together they lived in Odessa, Texas, where they raise their two boys. Julie worked at Montgomery Wards for 20 years. They served faithfully in the high school ministry at Temple Baptist Church for many years. After retirement, they moved to Ruidoso, New Mexico, where they enjoyed life with the pretty trees, wildlife, neighbors, and church family at Ruidoso Baptist Church. They served faithfully in the youth ministry there. The joy of her life was being a mother, Mimi and great Mimi. She took pride and raising her boys and loving her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Julie was proceeded in death by her granddaughter Kerri Kay, her husband, Wendell Walker, and her brothers, sisters and parents. She is survived by her sons, Joel walker and wife, Kay, Clay Walker and wife Kerri, grandchildren, Jeff Walker, and wife Taylor, Larissa Andis and husband Greg, Taryn Walker and husband Danny, Cody Walker and wife Lina, Mason Walker and Wife Halie, Michael Dolan and wife Stephanie, Kortni Dolan, and great grandchildren Roan, Teal, Foster, Kylie, Keira, Jaxxon, Brooklyn, Scarlet, Rhett, Della and Walker. 

Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
