Julissa Mari Ramirez

May 14, 2009 — June 19, 2024

Odessa

Julissa Mari Ramirez passed away at the age of 15 on June 19,2024 after a courageous fight. She was born in Odessa, Texas on May 14, 2009, to Andrew and Lisa Ramirez.

Julissa was the first-born daughter, granddaughter, and niece of the family. She was the center of our world. Julissa was a beautiful, vibrant, sassy girl from the very beginning. She had a sharp mind and was very artistic. She was always ready to learn TikTok dances and could get them down on the first few tries. She could draw incredibly well and was always doing arts and crafts projects. She mastered the arts of rainbow loom and slime making. Her paintings are proudly displayed at home for those that visit to see. She loved playing board games with her family and enjoyed family time no matter how chaotic it got between the 6 of them.

She was an amazing big sister and wonderful companion to her siblings Mikayla, Andrew, and Eli. Constantly recording videos with them and always laughing together. 4 parts of 1 heart, they were all the best of friends with each other. She loved her siblings very much.

The strength that Julissa had was beyond amazing. She had everyone in the family awe struck with her impeccable strength through the past 2 years. Her faith was strong and was constantly growing. She prayed until the very end and was a warrior in her battle. She had a contagious laugh when she told funny stories so much so that she could almost barely get through her story because she was laughing so much. She exuded a light so bright on this world and on her family. Our lives will forever be dimmer without her.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Andrew (Pops) Ramirez and her maternal grandfather, Freddie (Teto) Sanchez who were waiting for her with open arms.

She is survived by her parents, Andrew and Lisa Ramirez; her siblings, Mikayla, Andrew, and Eli Ramirez; paternal grandmother, Angie Ramirez; maternal grandmother, Ofelia Sanchez; her Uncle Cody; and cousin, who was like a sibling, Ellie Ramirez; her aunts, Laci and Stephanie.

The family would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses who worked with Julissa over the past 2 years at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. We would also like to thank the 6th floor Pediatrics staff at Midland Memorial Hospital and the Pre-Op Express staff and Julissa’s Starbucks girls at Medical Center Hospital. Your efforts and love for Julissa are greatly appreciated.
