Kathryn Burk

Kathryn Coleen Burk was born March 5, 1930 in Tulare, California to W.C. Williams and Helen Austin Williams and returned to her Heavenly Father on May 1, 2009. She was raised in Oklahoma City and was married to Arthur Jefferson Burk for over 51 years. They were charter members of St. Lukes United Methodist Church in Odessa. She spent most of her career as an executive secretary to the general manager of KOSA-TV and later worked in a similar capacity at Odessa College.

Coleens legacy was her devotion to her husband and their sons and her willingness to always listen to others. Even in her last days here, she was always more interested in what was important to others. Her unassuming style and grace showed those who knew her that her outward beauty was more than exceeded by her character and her love for others.

She was preceded to heaven by her parents, her husband, Arthur J. Burk, and her brother Austin Paul Williams.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff Williams Burk and Andrew Austin Burk, and his wife, Lee Ann. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Nia Moore, and husband, Dave, of Midland, Henry Burk of Austin, William Burk of Odessa, Austin Burk of Houston and Ellen Wilkerson and husband, Jason of Odessa. Coleen also had 3 great grandchildren, Burk Arthur Moore, Georgia Moore and Caroline Burk.

A special thank you is extended from Coleens entire family to Mary Smith whose tireless love and care will never be forgotten.

While her family mourns her loss, we rejoice in her return to her Heavenly Father and the reunion of her loving husband, Art. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 4, 2009, at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 2:00P.M. The family asks that memorials or gifts be directed to Home Hospice and we thank them for their support.
