Kathryn Lewallen

Kathryn was Born on September 8, 1928, in Ft Worth, Tx to Cecil and Angie Plummer. Kathryn Lewallen made the decision to follow her Lord and Savior at a very early age. On December 31, 2023, at 95 years old she met her Lord face to face.

Kathryn graduated from Polytechnic High School and thereafter, she met Curtis Lewallen while attending Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Tx. They married on April 23, 1948, and moved to Odessa in 1949. She was married almost 70 years before his passing in 2017.

She had 2 children, David Curtis Lewallen and Sherry Lynn Lewallen Fox.

They became members of Belmont Baptist Church until moving to FBC in 1966. Kathryn loved her church family where she taught Sunday school and worked on numerous committees.

Kathryn and Curtis started Commercial Ice Machine Co in 1961, working side by side.

She is survived by her son, David and wife Cheryl Lewallen; daughter, Sherry and husband Gerald Fox; grandkids, James and Michelle Lewallen, of Lamesa Staci and Kevin Walker, of Odessa, Greg and Cheryl Fox, of Seattle WA, Angela and Greg Stanford of Abilene , Zac and Belin Enriquez of Odessa , Sydney Lyle of Odessa; great grandkids, Cody Lewallen of Austin Tx, Brandon Walker of Odessa, Brianna Lewallen of Frisco , Breland and Savannah Fox of Somerset Kentucky, Stratton and Shannon Fox of  N. Carolina, Kaleb Walker and Franchesca of Odessa, Spencer Davis  and Sterling Davis of Abilene; 12 great-great grandkids and numerous nieces, cousins and nephews. Sister-in-law, Diane Plummer; brother-in-law, Harold Lewallen; and niece, Suan Plummer.

Special thank you to her caregiver Amy Lucero who took care of her with so much love. Also, to Carrie Maxwell who helped out in a very loving way, and Hospice of Midland.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Angie and Cecil Plummer; her beloved husband of 70 years, Curtis Lewallen; great granddaughter, Bethany Lewallen, special nephew Ronnie Plummer, her brothers Earl Plummer and Jerry Plummer, sister-in-Law, Betty Plummer, and LaRue Lewallen.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2023, from 6 PM to 8 PM. A celebration of Kathryn’s life will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 10:00 AM, at First Baptist Church in Odessa, Tx, officiated by Curtis Brewer and Byron McWilliams.
