Kathy Darlene Boyd

Our precious mother, Kathy Darlene Boyd, 68 of Odessa, TX rejoined her heavenly family on Monday, August 21, 2023, and gained her wings.  

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 28, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Derrick Looney of Gardendale Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens 

Darlene was born in Sylacauga, Alabama on January 26^th, 1955. To Kathleen and Bobby Joe Erving.  

She married Bobby Joe Boyd, the love of her life on March 29^th, 1972, in Crane, TX.  She was a devoted wife and mother of seven children. Darlene spent her life caring for her family and serving others. She was known for her wonderful cooking and loved spending time in the kitchen with her grandchildren sharing her family recipes, her most requested recipe was her famous yeast rolls.  Mom had an unforgettable, beautiful smile that would light up any room.  

Darlene is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Bobby Joe Boyd; and their son, Casey Fayne Boyd.  

Darlene is survived by her children, Kevin Boyd and wife Kim of Forney, TX, Kelly Boyd and Greg Tindol of Odessa, TX, Jayson Boyd and wife Stephanie of Kyle, TX , Adam Boyd and wife Bobbi Joe of Mount Vernon, IN , Ian Boyd of Alvin, TX , Erin Boyd of Odessa, TX; sister, Kyran Moore of Post, TX; and brother, Terry Murphy of Irving, TX; 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews that she held very dear to her heart.  

Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to her sister, Kyran Moore and her daughters Jaime   Leary, Jody Mild, Courtney Reed, their husbands and their children for being such a huge part of her life.  

The pallbearers will be Adam Boyd, Erin Boyd, Ian Boyd, Benjamin Valdez, Danny Valdez and Greg Tindol. With Wilburn Tindol and Larry Jacobs as honorary pallbearers.
