Kelly Brooks

Kelly Ann Brooks passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on July 2, 2017. She was 27 years old.

Kelly was born in Midland, Texas on May 10, 1990 to Gary Wayne Brooks and Ann Gutierrez. She lived in Midland most of her life, moving to Odessa several years ago. She is preceded in death by her daughters, Kadyn Ann Pitts, age 6 and Bailey Renae Gonzalez, age 6 weeks, her paternal grandfather, Henry Hoyt Brooks, and maternal grandparents, Andy and Donna Gutierrez. She will be deeply missed by her son, Christian Pitts, her mother, Ann Gutierrez, her father, Gary Wayne Brooks and wife, Jackie, her brothers, Michael Wayne Brooks, Isaac Gutierrez, Sean Edwards Brooks and Josh Morgan, sisters, Amber Van Cleave and Michele Warren, her grandmother, Audrey Brooks and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kelly was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a gentle spirit that asked little and loved much. She had many challenges in her life, including raising a severely handicapped son. She overcame so much, showing courage in the face of trouble. She loved her children, her parents and her friends. Her nieces and nephews loved being in her presence. She had an easy laugh, a beautiful smile and a gentleness that brought joy to the hearts of many.

Kelly had met the love of her life, James Gonzalez. They had a beautiful daughter, Bailey Renae Gonzalez, together and were making plans to spend the rest of their lives together as a family.

Kelly knew Jesus and we all know and trust that we will be reunited one day in our heavenly homes and that will be a joyous reunion.

Family Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

A Memorial Service will be held at Celebration of Life Second Baptist Church at 3125 Travis Ave. in Midland on July 10, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Family will have a private burial.
