Kelsi Miller

October 29, 1985 — October 7, 2008

We little knew that morning God was going to call your name.

In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you; you did not go alone,

For a part of us went with you, the day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories; your love is still our guide.

And though we can not see you, you are always by our side.

Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,

But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Kelsi Jordan Miller was born on October 29, 1985, to Lance and Debra Miller, in Odessa, Texas. Kelsi attended elementary school at Reagan in Odessa. Her family moved to Rankin where she attended Junior High and High School. She was a 2004 Honor Graduate. She was involved in numerous activities, including National Honor Society, Head Varsity Cheerleader, Basketball Captain, Class Vice President, Region 18 Outstanding GT Student, UTPB Beacon Award, 4-H Golden Clover Award, Best Actress in the One-Act Play, Pig Breed Champion, Heifer Breed Champion, Permian Basin 4-H Fair Scholarship, Sandhills Rodeo Scholarship, Little Miss Texas 1989 and she won many baton twirling contests. She was also involved in many community service projects, such as Meals on Wheels and Dress a Doll Project. She also would sew turbans for cancer patients and the Baby Bundle Project where she would sew blankets and diaper shirts to donate to hospitals.

Currently, Kelsi was working full time at Ector County Abstract Company; part time for Harrigans, and was pursuing her nurse practitioner degree at Odessa College and Texas Tech Health Science Center.

Rankin High School Class Quote of 2004:

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, I used everything you gave me.
