Kenneth Dyson

September 22, 1932 — July 3, 2012

Kenneth L. Dyson 79 of The Woodlands, TX passed away peacefully at home on July 3rd 2012, with his loving family by his side. He was the fourth of twelve children born to William Martin and Winnie Estelle Dyson in Greggton, TX on September 22, 1932.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 61 years, Wilona Dyson Son Darrell and wife RoxAnne Dyson of Conroe daughters Gina Dyson of Austin and Teresa Dyson of Spring Grandchildren Alissa and husband Lyle Nevin of Austin, Derek and wife Kourtney Dyson of The Woodlands, Jennifer Flatt and Greg Grigsby of Austin, T.J. and wife Lesley Ritchie of The Woodlands, and Heather Ritchie of The Woodlands, and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Gerry Shirley of Longview, Judy Holt of Odessa, Sue and husband James Freeman of Odessa and brother, Sam Dyson of Odessa and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceeded in death by his parents brothers Bobby Gene Dyson, Donald Ray Dyson, William Jan Dyson and John Wayne Dyson and sisters, Gwendolyn Peters, Helen Bingham, and Vicki Mallory.

Ken was enlisted in the Texas National Guard for 14 years. He was a member of The Woodlands Christian Church for 27 years. After 30 years in the Oil field industry, Kens work as a general contractor included volunteer work in and around the church, missionary work in Mexico and Texas, and volunteer work at the Montgomery County Womans Center after which he was awarded Elder Emeritus at his church.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Heart to Heart Hospice of Houston.
Memorial service will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel, Odessa at 2:00pm Saturday July 14, 2012.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to The Woodlands Christian Church Facility and Mission fund.
