Kenneth Ramsey

Kenneth DeWayne Ramsey, 67, of Odessa passed away on January 21, 2014 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Kenneth was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Kenneth and Bobby Sue Ramsey on October 13, 1946. He married Claudia on August 22, 1964. He worked as an Operator at Rexene for over 27 years. Kenneth was a 32nd degree Mason of the El Paso Scottish Rite. He was member of the 955 Masonic Lodge and the Andy Vaughn Masonic Lodge 1421. Kenneth was a member of the Eastern Star 1008 and the American Legion. Kenneth was known as Papaw to many little hearts thru his affiliation with Kids In Care Learning Center. Kenneth loved to spend time at his ranch and deer hunting when he was able. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a very dedicated husband, dad, and papaw.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his mother, Bobby Sue Ramsey father, Kenneth Lee Ramsey his daughter, Sherri McElmurry and his sister, Nancy Gilmer.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Claudia Ramsey his daughters and spouses, Carolyn and Terry Leddon, Kim and Rickey Dennis his sister and spouse, Debbie and Don Blackmon Niece, Donna Blackmon 7 grandchildren, Kayla and Chris Bingham, Chelsea Leddon, Amanda and Neil Register, Daniel McElmurry, Brittaney, KeyLee and Ryley Dennis 4 great grandchildren, Tyler and Landon Bingham, Caysey and Reaghan Register.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, January 25th at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Family viewing will be Friday, January 24th 68pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In leiu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn St., Dallas, Texas 75219.
