Kenneth Harold Stamps, 92, of Odessa, passed away on July 4, 2016 in Odessa.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Lynn Money of Sherwood Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
Kenneth was born in Panama, Oklahoma to James Oscar and Bonnie Pearl Stamps on July 5, 1923. He went to school in Keota, Oklahoma. He married the love of his life, Edna Leon Cole, on March 6, 1943 in Keota, Oklahoma. Kenneth began working in the Permian Basin oil fields in 1950 and has owned and operated Kens repair Service, specializing in instrument repair and calibration for the past 35 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason involved in Masonic Lodge work for over 60 years.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Edna, his father and mother and one brother, Charles Delmar.
Kenneth is survived by his daughter Linda Carol White, his granddaughters, Melissa Thorton and Amy Chavez, six great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild. Kenneth is also survived by two brothers, Earl Gene Stamps and James Doyle Stamps and two sisters, Norma Arlene Reed and Freida Louise Tarrant.
Pallbearers will be Earl Stamps, David Dowd, Ronnie Wallace, Rusty Gilbert, Mike Scarbrough, Angel Salazar and honorary pall bearers, Ray Warner and B.D. Berryhill.
Kenneth's family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to The Parks nurses and staff, Hospice of Midland, Sherwood Church of Christ, Lynn Money and all the many friends who comforted and cared for Ken.
