Kristal Marie Diamond Zavala

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kristal Marie Diamond Zavala, 25, of Odessa. She walked through the gates of heaven on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Odessa Regional Hospital. 

Visitation will take place Friday, January 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements are being made by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. 

Kristal was born and raised in Odessa, Texas, to Teah Palacio and Marcos Zavala. She attended Permian High School where she graduated in 2018, making many memories and friends along the way. She worked as a cashier for Market Street where she grew to be loved by her co-workers and regular customers. 

One of Kristal’s biggest joys in life was being a partner in crime with her mother. You would always find the two of them running around and getting into something together while influencing others to join their escapades. Kristal faced life's challenges with unwavering courage and embraced its blessings with profound gratitude. She would light up a room as soon as she walked in and her loving, kind nature could be felt by all. Her life was a testament to her love and unwavering kindness. Kristal touched many lives in her journey on earth and she will forever remain a source of inspiration for all who knew her. As she now rests in the arms of her Creator, may her legacy continue to bring comfort and peace to those she leaves behind.

Kristal is preceded in death by her great grandparents, Vertis “Lou” & Evelyn Diamond; her grandmother, Johnnie Diamond; grandparents, Angelita Robles and Cruz Hernandez; and aunt, Blanca Zavala. 

Kristal is survived by her parents, Teah & Cruz Palacio, as well as Marcos and Sandra Zavala; her brothers, Marcos Zavala Jr., Jadon Zavala, Adolfo Palacio; and sisters, Mia Palacio and Isary Ortiz; and nephew, Santiago Zavala; her grandfather, Kenneth Diamond; aunt/uncle, Jennifer Diamond and Mo Castro and their children, Nicole Diamond, Josh Diamond, Gabby Boudreau, Gavyn Boudreau. Aunt/Uncle, Becky and Roger Zavala and their children, Blanca Zavala, Esmee Zavala, Aaron Rayos. Aunt/Uncle Beverly and Tony Strayer and their children, Kagan Strayer, Wen Wen Strayer, Andre Strayer. Aunt, Princess Ortiz and her children Cruz “Speedy” Tamayo, Sabrina Delgado, Antonio Delgado, Uncle Librado Palacio, Uncle Pablo Reyes and his children Auroa Reyes, JP Reyes, Amado Reyes. Kristal, our beloved, we are devastated to lose you, but God must have grand plans for you in Heaven.
