Lacas Cedillos

Lacas Leonardo Rosas Cedillos, age 55, of Odessa passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born November 8, 1955 in McCamey, Texas. Lacas was one of fourteen children born to Francisco and Maxima Cedillos. Lacas graduated from Ector High School in Odessa, Texas. He married Martha Rafaela Del Rio of Chihuahua, Mexico on March 8, 1978 and the two made their home in Odessa, Texas. Lacas was Pastor of La Libertad de Cristo Church and known to many as Brother Lacas. Lacas and Martha were blessed with three children Amy, Lacas, and Tammy. Life got even better when God blessed him with several grandchildren Sarah, Jonathan, Natalie, Iliana, Crystal, Matthew and Chloe.

Lacas greatest joys in life were waking up early in the morning to bird watch, singing and dancing to the Lord and studying the word of God.

He is preceded in death by: father Francisco Cedillos, brother, Pilo Perales Ignacia Perales sister, Felipa Campos Felipe Campos, and sister Jessie Lopez.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Martha Cedillos mother, Maxima Cedillos children, Amy Alvarado and husband Johnny, Lacas Cedillos and wife Cynthia and Tammy Cedillos, Jose Munoz brothers, Manuel Perales, Jose Perales and wife Tomasa, Robert Perales and late wife Cristina, Frank Cedillos and wife Alice, John Cedillos and Danny Cedillos sisters, Felicita Vega Pale Vega, Angela Gonzales and husband Thomas, Cruzita Ramirez Cipriano Ramirez and AdeLinda Cortez and husband Larry Cortez with several nieces and nephews along with his church family.

The life of one we love is never lost. Its influence goes on through all the lives it ever touched.

This life will be celebrated at 1:00 PM, Friday, August 12, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, 6801 E. Business 20, Odessa, Texas, 79762, with Pastor Frank Cedillos officiating, and singerguitarist, Elaine Randolph. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. VisitationViewing will be Thursday, August 11, 2011 from 68 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Manuel Minjarez, Joey Gaona, Jack Degeer, Tony Sanchez, Flo Guitan, Martin Ramirez, Rene Cedillos, and Randy Cedillos.
