Laura Jones

October 10, 1940 — July 20, 2016

Laura Jones (Lolly) fell asleep on earth and woke up in Glory on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. Lolly was a perfect example of the Proverb's Woman. "Her children rise up and called her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." Proverbs 31:28-30

She was known to us as our Momma, Mom, Memaw, and Memo. She loved her husband, her children, and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always there to be a shining example to all who loved her. Lolly was born in Los Angeles, California, on October 10, 1940. She married the love of her life, Arlie Jones, in 1958. Together they raised 4 children and when the baby of the family started school she started working outside the home to provide all of the extras that she never had as a child.

A meek and quiet woman in a family of loud mouths, she always let everyone else do all of the talking and never complained. She was a woman of faith, courage, and strength. Her faith in our Almighty Creator never wavered and only increased when tragedy struck. Anyone that ever met her walked away saying, "she's SO sweet". That's who she was and that's how she lived her life; with a calm sweet spirit. She was always concerned about being a burden to her family and never realized how precious she was. That's part of what made her so special.

Lolly will be joining her husband Arlie, her son OPD Corporal Arlie Jones, and 2 great-grandsons. She leaves behind her daughters and their husbands who she considered her sons: Kathleen and Rex Woodard, Erin & Austin Fulfer, and Colleen and Ricky Smith. She also leaves 2 brothers, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and 3 nieces that she loved dearly.

Pall Bearers will be her grandsons: Jamie Maldonado, Sean Woodard, James Woodard, Collin Smith, Luke Smith, and great-grandson Logan Maldonado.

Daddy, now you can tell Laura you love her.
