Leandra Vasquez Carrasco

Leandra Vasquez Carrasco of Odessa, TX, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 5:00 AM.

Leandra Vasquez Carrasco better known as “AMA”, daughter of Jesus and Delfina Vasquez, born on March 15, 1949, in El Mulato, Chihuahua, Mexico, where she was also raised. She was one of 6 siblings. She leaves her beloved daughters, Olivia Olivas and Eva Garza.

She loved cooking, gardening and spending time with her two companions, Boomer and Cowboy. 

Leandra is survived by her oldest granddaughter, Janeth and husband Mark Salas; daughters, Olivia and husband Rafael Olivas, Eva and husband Albert Garza; grandchildren, Gabriel Baeza and wife Iralyn, Sergio Baeza and wife Briana, Abraham Olivas and wife Alexandria, Sarah Olivas and Joe White, Albert Garza, Jr., Mario Garza, all of Odessa, Texas, and Laura Villegas and husband Javier of Rowlett, Tx; great grandchildren, Aaden and Bryson Baeza, Analeah, Alaina and Braelynn Baeza, Violet and Xylynn Olivas, Julian Garza all of Odessa, Tx, and Alex, Bre and Cierra of Rowlett, Tx. She is also survived by her sisters, Gonzalo Vasquez, Irma Gomez, Elia Montes, Cecelio Vasquez; great grand companions, Stormi and Steel; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Leandra is preceded in death in by her parents; daughter, Gloria Carrasco; and her sister, Dora Vasquez. 

Pallbearers will be Gabirel Baeza, Sergio Baeza, Albert Garza, Mark Salas, Mario Garza and Joe White. Honorary pallbearer will be Aaden Baeza.

The family of Leandra Carrasco wishes to extend our most thanks to anyone who cared, wished and prayed for her, you will always be appreciated.

She will forever say “Esta es toda mi familia”. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 28, 2025, at San Juan Catholic Church in Odessa, TX. A burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Father Lazaro Hernandez will be officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Odessa.
