Leatrice Sigmon

Leatrice Joy Jody Sigmon, a resident of Odessa, formerly of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011.

Jody was born November 3, 1929 to Stella Helen Nolan Fletcher and Tony Edward Fletcher in Benton County, Arkansas. She married James Jim Lewis Sigmon on December 20, 1947 in Mont Ne, Arkansas.

Jody will be remembered as a wonderful wife and mother, who was an avid reader and enjoyed classic movies.

Leatrice is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Sigmon, her sister, Amanda Cunningham and her granddaughter, Carma Cooper.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, James Sigmon, of San Antonio and daughters, Mary Wheeler of Odessa and Carey Cooper of Liberty Hills, Texas, Kate Ellen Wood of Quinton, Oklahoma brother, Tony Edward Fletcher, Jr. of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, and sister Louise Taylor of Garfield, Arkansas grandchildren, James JB Sigmon of San Antonio, Bryan Wheeler of Austin, Texas, Candice Grundy of Round Rock, Texas, Jay Cooper of Liberty Hill, Texas, James JR Ellenwood of Suffolk, Virginia and Michael Ellenwood of Quinton, Oklahoma four sistersinlaw, one brotherinlaw and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, March 11, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Larry Hood officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the National Kidney Foundation.
