Lela Holloway, 88, of Odessa, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015 in Odessa.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, March 16. 2015 from 5-7pm at Sunset Memorial Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Chapel with C.A. Smith of Northside Church of Christ of Andrews, Kevin Fox of West Way Church of Christ of Midland and University Church of Christ of Odessa, officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
Lela was born in Epps, LA to Willie Author Stroud and Lillie Peppers on September 25, 1926. She married Lum Cage Holloway on April 17, 1947 in Natchez, MI. She worked as a Nurse's Aide at Medical Center Hospital for 29 years. She was a daily visitor/worker at the Northside Senior Center.
Lela is preceded in death by both her parents, Willie and Lillie Stroud; four sisters, Edna Mae Alford, Bernice Strong, Irma Bowman, and Ela Day; four brothers, Herman Stroud, Willie Stroud, E. M. Stroud, and James Stroud; her husband Lum, 1/12/1978, and two sons John Holloway, 12/26/2006 and William Holloway, in 1961.
Lela is survived by two sons, Jerry Holloway and spouse Joanne of Houston and James Holloway and spouse Rebecca of Odessa; two sisters, Lois Fempee and Audrey Dunham both of Louisiana.
Memorials may be given to Home Hospice.
