Lena Faye Wynn Miller, 93, of Odessa passed away peacefully October 6, 2021 in Midland Texas. She was born September 3, 1928 in Hockley County to Clyde and Mabel Wynn.
Lena Faye known to everyone that met her as grandma, attended high school in Smyer, Texas where she played on the girls’ basketball team and graduated in 1946. She married Veto Porter Miller on July 3, 1948. She raised eight children, numerous grandchildren and was an inspiration to anyone that met her. She loved to fish, play piano, George Straight, gospel music, bake, make plastic canvas crafts and work with special needs children. She volunteered many years with Special Olympics and ARC. She learned sign language so that she could communicate with her son. She was a true Dallas Cowboy fan and rarely missed watching a game. She had a sense of humor and a quick wit and her favorite saying was “it isn’t illegal if you don’t get caught.”
Lena Faye is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of over 60 years, 2 sons Jerry Mitchell and Veto Earl, and one daughter Joy Johnson.
She is survived by one son Randall Miller (Kitty) of Andrews, 4 daughters, Carolyn Johnson, Darla Peters, and Janice Marin of Odessa, and Rhonda Cumberledge (Tim) of Pleasanton Tx. She also leaves numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday October 14, 2021 from 6 – 8 pm. Funeral services will be Friday October 15, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 1 p.m.
