Leonard Mitchell "Mitch" Haller, age 80, of Odessa, TX, passed away on May 24, 2017 in Odessa.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday, May 26, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Newton of Crossroads Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mitch was born September 30, 1936 to Charles Albert Haller and Essie Mae Cagle Haller in Ft. Worth, TX. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1955.
He married his high school sweetheart, Peggy Jean Masey on August 27, 1955. Mitch always looked forward to and enjoyed all the family gatherings and celebrations.
After 31 years of service, Captain Mitchell Haller retired from the Odessa Police Department in February of 1990. In his retirement he spent many hours wood carving and going to rallies with the Mustang Draw and the Texas Wood Carver's Guild.
Mitch is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Albert Haller and Essie Mae Haller, his brother, Cardell Haller and his sister, Tribla Pace.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Peggy Haller, his son, Sherman Haller and wife, Robbi, his daughter, Michele Pierce and husband Charles, sister, Barbara Kevil and her husband Wilbur, his grandchildren, Bailey Haller and his wife Carly, Jennifer Shipman and her husband Bert, Scott Pierce and his wife Chrisha, Blake Haller and his wife Nicole and 5 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bailey Haller, Scott Pierce, Blake Haller and Bret Shipman.
