Leslie Blalock

Leslie (Les) C. Blalock of Odessa Tx, passed away on November 3, 2021, in Odessa. Les was born in Clovis, New Mexico, on April 5, 1953. He attended several schools in the West Texas area, including Odessa High School, and graduated from Ozona High School in 1971. Les then went on to earn an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from Odessa College.

Les devoted his nearly 40-year career to public safety and emergency services. He served many years as a police officer with Odessa Police Department, before helping to form the first emergency services district in Texas, where he held the position of Executive Director until retiring in 2009. Les had a long running interest in science and technology and was an active member in local amateur radio and astronomy clubs for many years.

Les is preceded in death by his father Robert David Blalock, mother Dortha Blalock, and sister Sonnie Simmons. Les is survived by his wife Lea Blalock, son David Blalock and wife Jen Lawless, sister Judy Parch, and father-in-law Roy Dunn.
