Lexie Ruth Jackson Miller, 79, passed away peacefully May 9, 2014 in Odessa Texas.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wade Welch of Gardendale Christian Fellowship Church officiating. Eulogy presented by grandson, Pastor Matthew Cagle of MarVista Baptist Church of Imperial Beach California. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Lexie Ruth Jackson Miller was born in Littlefield, Texas to James Lee and Bessie Dunigan Jackson on April 2, 1935. She was the sixth of eight children. She went to school in Littlefield where she graduated in 1953. She married GH Miller May 8, 1954 in Littlefield Texas.
Lexie had a very fulfilling life. She was a top salesperson for Town Country Mobile Homes at Frontier Mobile Home Sales of Odessa. She was so successful she was able to travel the world due to her multiple awards in sales. Lexie was an avid bowler. She participated in Odessa bowling leagues for many years. Lexies main focus was her family. She had 5 children but was known to raise many others as well as her own. Her home was always full of family and friends. One of her greatest joys was becoming a grandmother. Her grandchildren spent many summers and holidays with their Mommar. She enjoyed attending school functions or anything else they were involved in.
Lexie was a founding member of the Gardendale Christian Fellowship Church. She loved her church family dearly.
Lexie is preceded in death by her husband GH Miller, who passed Feb 9, 2002, her parents James Lee and Bessie Jackson, sisters Dorothy Wright and Edith Hays, brothers Dan Jackson, James Jackson, John Jackson and Son in law Randy Greene.
Lexie is survived by her children Becky Cagle, Greg Miller Kayla, Linda Greene Johnny, Frank Miller and Leslie Broadwell Shelly all of Odessa, her sisters Bessie Lee Hanks Lester of Hurst, Texas and Barbara Berry of Muleshoe. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kristi Condry Ski, Alex Broadwell, Gregory Miller, Jeffrey Miller, Kim Greene and Jonathan Greene all of Odessa, Matthew Cagle Alison and Jason Cagle Michelle of California, 6 great grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
The family would like to recognize her lifelong friend, Allyne Voss, special recognition to her friend, Thelma Greene both of Odessa. They would also like to express special gratitude to the staff and residents of Buena Vida Nursing home who were like an extended family to her.
Pallbearers will be Lexies grandsons Matthew Cagle, Jason Cagle, Gregory Miller, Jeffrey Miller, Alex Broadwell and Ski Condry. Honorary pallbearer will be Evan Condry.
Memorials may be given to Home Hospice of Odessa, Gardendale Christian Fellowship Church or an Alzheimers charity of your choice.
