Lida Hammitt

Lida Ardell Dale Hammitt passed away December 4, 2013 in Odessa, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Southside Baptist Church with Pastor Shaun Lynch officiating. Burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.

Dale was born in Cherokee, Kansas to Walter and Belle Windsor on July 13, 1926. Dale married Bill T. Hammitt on September 29, 1947 in Ward County. Dale worked as a nurse at various health facilities throughout her life. Dale is preceded in death by her husband Bill T. Hammitt, son Gerald Ray Hammitt, and parents Walter and Belle Windsor.

Dale is survived by daughter Peggy Hailes of the The Woodlands, and son and daughterinlaw Billy and Jan Hammitt of Monahans. She was known as Nana by her grandchildren Trey and Gina Williams of Austin, Texas, Don and Ashley Hammitt of Round Rock, Texas, granddaughter Kristin and Roger Fox of The Woodlands, Texas, Kimberly and JD Clark of China Spring, Texas and great grandchildren Brooke, Tyler, Logan, Madison, Cameron, James, Jordan, Witten, and Lincoln.

Dale is also survived by her brother and sisterinlaw Don and Elsa Windsor of Lawton, Oklahoma.

Memorials may be given to Southside Baptist Church in Monahans or Hospice House in Odessa.
