Lila Thornton

Lila Ruth Ferguson Thornton, 87, of Odessa Texas, passed away at home on November 9, 2017 in Odessa Texas.

Visitation will be at the Thornton home from 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday, November 10, 2017.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Lila Ruth was born in Canyon, Texas to Jack Ray and Jessie Ferguson on February 8, 1930. She went to school in Lohn and Brady, Texas. She married Milton Bailey Thornton on September 25, 1948 in Breckenridge, Texas. She worked as a bookkeeper for Electronic Service Center and Midland Sound for several years. She was a member of Billy Hext Church of Christ. Her greatest joys were being an excellent wife, mother and grandmother.

Lila is survived by her husband of 69 years, Milton, their five children, daughter Pam Campbell and husband Ray, their three children, Wes and wife Allison and children Natalie and Henry, Craig and wife Sharon and daughters Harper, Violet and Ada, Amanda and husband Jon Jackson and children Cambrey, Connor and Eva, Son Larry and wife Vicki; two daughters Julie Terry and Andrea and husband Charlie Trotter and daughters Evie, Julie, Clara and Emmy Jo; son Robert and wife Shauna and their three sons Kagan, Trent, Matt and wife Bernadette and their daughter Hayley Jo; son Gary and his wife Karen and children Sara, James, David and wife Destiny and son Abraham, Amy and husband Rob Moceri and children Collins, Maggie and Sebastian; son Weldon and wife Leah and two children, Nick and daughter Hunter, Kayla and husband Mark Meadows and children Jeremiah, Dylan and Leah Michelle.
