Lillian Estelle Mingus, of Irving, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013.
She was born November 8, 1912 in Gentrys Mill, Texas. She was a longtime member of MacArthur Blvd. Baptist Church in Irving.
At her 100th birthday celebration, she received Gov. Perrys Yellow Rose of Texas Award, the U.S. Congressional Recognition Award, as well as a House of Representatives Award.
Lillians husband of 54 years, Silvester O. Mingus, died in 1985. She is survived by her sons Grady A. Mingus of Odessa, and C.O. Mingus and wife Becky of Odessa and daughter Rosa Mingus Gordon and husband Ken of Irving 9 grandchildren 19 great grandchildren and 5 greatgreat grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Browns Memorial Chapel with Rev. Peter McNabb and Rev. Darrin Mechling and officiating. The family will receive friends 68 PM Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 18, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.
