Lloyd Bean

Lloyd Bean, 90, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on July 11, 2020 in Odessa.

Private services will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Lloyd was born in Kiowa County, Oklahoma to Nick and Olna Bean on October 11, 1929.  He received his bachelor’s degree at Midwestern State University and his Master of Education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.  He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Army.  Lloyd was involved in many activities, including basketball in high school, league volleyball, and he was a lifelong and passionate golfer. He received many trophies in volleyball leagues and in golf tournaments.  Lloyd taught elementary school for 30 years at Milam and Burnett Elementary.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Olna Bean.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Lavon Bean; sisters, Louise Shiffer and Lois Elms; brother, Nicky Bean; daughter, Mary Bean; son, David Bean; stepchildren, Deborah Ticer and Jenny Kading; 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
