Lois Dee Holt

Lois D. Coursey Holt of Odessa, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023, in Odessa, TX.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Asbury Methodist Church, located at 4001 E. University BLVD in Odessa, TX, with Pastor Raul Garcia officiating.

Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home of Odessa, TX.

Lois was the 2^nd child of 6 siblings born to Olen David Coursey and Vonnie L. Smith Coursey in Edgewood, Tx, on February 2, 1931. She went to school and graduated from Pyote High School and literally married “The Boy Next Door”, Charles “Chock” Holt on August 20, 1955, at the Pyote Methodist Church.

Lois was a devoted wife and blessed to be a stay-at-home mother of 3 children as well as a beloved “MiMi” assisting with the grandchildren that followed. Lois was a faithful and active member of Asbury Methodist Church for over 50 years. She had a “Servants Heart” and was always there to help family and friends in times of need and in times of celebration. Lois was an avid bird watcher who loved the great outdoors. She traveled the great U.S. and abroad…. taking time to drop in to visit family and friends along the way. She took an active role in planning and attending family and school reunions; keeping close to those she loved so much!

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Olen and Vonnie Coursey; husband, Charles “Chock" Holt; sister, Leta Russell; brother, Perry “David” Coursey; brothers-n-law, Don Russell and Bert Downing, Sr.

Lois is survived by her daughters, Deann Messa and Janis Farquhar; son-in-law, Mark Farquhar; son, Robert “Rusty” Holt; daughter-in-law, Cindy Holt; sister, Mary Downing; brother, Roland “Harold” Coursey; sister-in-law, Lynda Coursey; brother, Olen “Max” Coursey; grandchildren, Heather Borel and husband Nick Borel, John Holt “BoBo” Crambell, Amber Messa, Mason Williams and wife Dolores “DJ” Williams, and Brittany and husband Billy Weatherford; great grandchildren, John “Zackary” Hartman, Tucker Rhian Borel, Cassadee Nichole Borel, Ramiro Rolando Contreas, Sebastian Williams, Ashton Williams, Julian Williams, Jonas Williams, and Abigail Weatherford.
