Lois Watkins

Lois Irene Watkins, 89, of Midland, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2012 in Midland, Texas.

Lois Watkins was born January 26, 1923 in Leake County, Mississippi to Clifton and Falma Johnson Thornton.

Lois married the love of her life, HG Jack Watkins on April 17, 1943 in Leake County, Mississippi. He owned a gravel trucking business and gas station in Mississippi. They moved in February 1952 to the Rankin area, where he went to work for Texas Natural Gas Company. Then in 1959, they moved to Midland, Texas. Her life was her family, being a wife, mom and grandmother.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Watkins from Granbury, TX her daughters, Brenda Perryman and Sheila Hughes, both of Midland, TX her grandchildren, Sherry Campbell of Midland, Susan Perryman of Midland, Kyle Watkins of Lubbock, and Heather Hughes of Midland seven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dr. Tom Lobaugh from Trinity Presbyterian officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made out to any of the following charities: American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or the Alzheimers Associations.
