Lonnie Musick

Lonnie Ray Musick, age 77, of Odessa, TX, went to be with the Lord, January 24, 2016 in Midland, TX. He was welcomed into heaven by his late father, Sidney Musick, and mother, Sylvia (Clevenger) Musick and his late two sisters, and seven brothers.

Lonnie was born on April 16, 1938 in Lawn, TX. He married the love of his life, Aretta Pearl (Steen) Musick in 1957 in New Mexico. They moved to Odessa, TX in 1962 where he gave his heart to the Lord, and dedicated his life to his God and family. Lonnie remained dedicated to the Christian community, visiting the sick, and giving to those in need. Lonnie served as Sunday School superintendent and song leader for the main worship service for over 40 years. Was as a member of The Living Word Church in Odessa.

In 1969 Lonnie founded Lonnie Musick Construction, Inc. A quality Residential and Commercial Building Company. Earning a reputation that counted him among the finest quality and trusted builders in the Permian Basin.

Lonnie is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Aretta Musick; son Jesse Musick and wife Toni of Austin, TX; daughter Latona Hudgins and husband Tom of Big Springs, TX; granddaughters, Jessica Banks, Lacey Bernal and husband, Steven, Ashley Bedford; two great granddaughters, three great grandsons and one great great granddaughter.

Lonnie's life touched the heart and lives of countless. His legacy of integrity, honesty, love and compassion will affect lives for generations to come.

Pallbearers will be: Billy Steen, Craig Steen, Dylon Vickers, Josh Flowers, Steven Bernal and Tony Steen.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Friday, January 29, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Freddy Steen officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
