Loretta Lucille Matthews Hiltbrunner, 80, of Odessa, TX, passed away on December 27, 2014 in Odessa, TX.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 6:008:00pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

Loretta Lucille Matthews Hiltbrunner was born in White Deer, TX to Ida Mae Ring Rutherford and Kenneth Matthews on May 20, 1934. She attended high school in Shamrock, TX. She married Billy Gene Hiltbrunner on May 28, 1950 in Shamrock, TX. She worked as a frontend manager for Gibsons till she retired in 1980.

She was involved in MDA, Special Olympics, member of Temple Baptist Church and in her spare time, she loved to crochet, play solitaire and assemble puzzles.

Loretta is preceded in death by her husband Billy Gene Hiltbrunner, her son Gary Hiltbrunner, both her parents, Ida Mae and Kenneth Matthews and her brother Charles Matthews.

She is survived by her sisters Dorothy Vearner of Amarillo, Mary Louis Bailey of Pampa, Juanelle and her husband Bobby Harris of Humble and her brother Wallace Matthews and his wife Kayron of College Station, three grandchildren, Travis and William Simmons of Odessa, and Nickie Vinson of Odessa and daughter Julie Hiltbrunner and three greatgrandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Manton Ray Dodson, III, Jonathan J. Dominey, William B. Simmons, Jr., and Travis B. Simmons.

The family of Loretta wishes to thank the caring staff of Medical Center Hospital and the Texas Tech Physicians for their many efforts to help mom. Every nurse and doctor who helped her took extra care and went above and beyond to make her final days comfortable.
