Louis Jackson, Sr., age 88, of Midland, TX, went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2019 in Midland, TX.
Louis was born January 24, 1931 to William Lonzo Jackson and Barbara (Bishop) Jackson at home in Stephens County, Oklahoma, the youngest of 6 siblings. Louis and Wanda Fleming were married on September 29, 1949 in Duncan, Oklahoma. They were happily married for 69 years until her passing.
Louis left home at an early age to work for an uncle on a farm in Oklahoma, until becoming of age to work in the oilfields. He worked the oilfields of Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico, before hiring on with Santa Fe International, which took him to the Middle East. Louis and Wanda enjoyed touring overseas on their time off. After returning home from the Middle East, Louis founded Permian Inspection Service. Louis and Wanda truly enjoyed working together at their business in every aspect. They enjoyed going to auctions and meeting and making many friends along the way.
After retirement, they joined the Air steam Club and toured the Continental USA and Canada. After that adventure, they moved to the hill country, where he enjoyed raising miniature Herford Cattle. Louis and his son opened Crosses of Comfort, which he enjoyed working with his son and woodworking.
Louis is preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Wanda Jackson; his parents, William and Barbara Jackson and six siblings.
He is survived by his five children, Ann Haggatt, Judy Thompson and husband, Jack, Kathy Walters and her husband, Bob Vickey Turner and Louis Jackson, Jr; grandchildren, Sonja Clark, Amy Kay, Julie Stewart, Coby Pool Nicholas Jackson; six
great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, which all were very much loved by Louis.

Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Clydel Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
