Lourdes Cherry

Lourdes “Miss Lou” Cherry passed away on November 13th, 2020 in her beloved town of Odessa, Texas at the golden age of 94 years.

She was happiest when outdoors as an avid deer hunter, who enjoyed fishing, as a wildlife enthusiast and loved being in the garden at dusk & dawn tending to nature. The people who knew her would say she was a tough and determined lady, but those who were close to her would tell you it was all an act to make sure YOU didn’t become soft. Lou Cherry was an admired and successful business owner for over 40 years and understood the importance and value of giving back to the Odessa community.

The following loved ones welcome her in the internal kingdom of God preceded in death by parents Guy and Dolores (Lola) Smith, sisters Eva Kenimer and Aurora Olivos, brother Guy Smith Jr., and husband Samuel Cherry.

The remaining family will always remember her dedication to success and willingness to help others overcome the hurdles of life. Her memory will continue to live in her sister Mary Ramos, daughter Dolores and Son-in-Law George Torres, son Telo and Daughter-in-Law Terri Valles; Step-Daughters, Celia Rice, and Jan Cherry; Grandchildren Diana Ordunez, Michael Torres, George Torres Jr., Christina Johnston, Justin Torres, and Great Grandchildren LaSha Watson-Roever, Kermit Watson. George Allen Watson, Sage Johnston, Jonah Torres, Marisa Torres, Lucas Torres, Dylan Torres, Sophia Torres and Macey Kesser.

A very special thanks to Frank Ordunez who spent countless hours of his life over the past few years comforting the soul of a wonderful women to rest, along with supporting spouses of the family Cindy Torres, , Andrea Torres, Jordon Watson, EJ Watson, Jake Roever and David Kesser.
