LTC Lester H. Williams, Jr., 76, of Odessa, TX, passed away on 10 December 2018 in Odessa, TX.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Thursday, 13 December 2018 at Sunset Memorial Garden Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Friday, 14 December 2018, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the REV. Dr. Weeks of Connection Christian Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial.

Lester was born in Temple, TX to Lester H. Williams, Sr. and Louise Sanders. He was in the first graduating class at Permian High School. He earned his bachelors at Texas Tech University and masters from Salve Regina University. He married Glendya Green on August 21, 1964 in Odessa, TX. He was a veteran of Viet Nam and served in the Marines and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star (3 OLC), Navy Commendation Medal (Combat V), and Purple Heart. He was involved in many organizations including The Chuck Wagon Gang, Odessa Downtown Lions Club, Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors, Oil City Sams Club, Eastern Star, Masonic Organizations and a longtime member of First Christian Church (Connection Christian Church).

Lester is preceded in death by Lester H. Williams, Sr., Louise Sanders, and David Lee Williams.

Lester is survived by Glendya Williams, John David and Cathy Williams, John and Leslie Gillian, Martha Williams, John Wesley Williams and Leticia Volpe, Jaci and Cody Williams, and Jerry Gillian.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given to Connection Christian Church.
