Luther Wilson

Luther Drake Wilson, age 71, of Odessa, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011. Luther was born February 12, 1940 in Giddings, Texas to the late Robert Wilson and Maggie Jarmon. Luther attended school in Ledbetter, Texas and graduated from Ledbetter School and then moved to Odessa, Texas.

On September 11, 1964, he married Patricia Ann Cleaver and they have been married for 47 loving years.

Luther worked for Medical Center Hospital for numerous years in the stock room and then moved to Huntsman as an operator in Odessa for 30 years where he retired in 2000. During his employment with Huntsman, he had the opportunity to move his family to Algeria, Africa for several years.

Luther Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wilson and Maggie Jarmon sister, Ida Lane Hancock. Luther leaves behind a loving and dedicated wife, Patricia Wilson, three loving children: Denish WilsonOwens of Forney, Texas Patrick Wilson Maye of Forney, Texas and Pamela Wilson of Wylie, Texas and two children from a prior union: Tyrone and Bridget Wilson three grandchildren: Xia Wilson, Jamel Owens and Mason Wilson a brother, Clarence Gantt of Denver, Colorado, his mothers only living sibling and his loving aunt, Nettie Wilson of Houston, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Luther Wilson accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior before he passed on to be with our Lord.

Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Friday, September 23, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home, 6801 East Business 20, Odessa, Texas.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Mackey Chapel United Methodist Church, 306 W. Clements, with Reverend Darren Patrick officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
