Lyndal Lynn Buford Preslar
Lynn entered this world January 14, 1920, to Mr. and Mrs. James H. Preslar in Sanco, Tom Green County, Texas. Exactly 90 years to the day, January 14, 2010 our Heavenly Father called him home. He is preceeded in death by both his parents and his sisters, Oneta and Laveta.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Maxine Pruett Preslar, who he married on January 9, 1950 of Gardendale, Tx. They just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his only daughter Lydia Len RedmonBennett and her husband Lem T. Bennett of Gardendale, Tx. One granddaughter, Cari Lynn Loffler and her husband, Jesse Loffler, of Odessa, Tx. Two greatgrandsons, Michial Hesson and Sawyer Simpkins, of Odessa, Tx., and one greatgreatgranddaughter, Ciera Hesson of Odessa, Tx.
Lynn served our United States as a proud Marine. He survived being a POW under the Japanese for 3 years and is a defender of Bataan and Corregidor. Lynn served the people of Odessa, Ector County, Texas, for 26 years as a dedicated firefighter. His helmet with No.64 hangs in his daughters home today.
Services will be Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Gardens with a Military Burial to follow. Pallbearers are James Brunson, Dickie Corbell, Junior Brown, Freddie Gardner, Winston Dick and Gene Chandler.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the VA Hospital, CO Iva Jo Hauslik, Community Relations Director, 300 Veterans Blvd. Big Springs, Texas 79720.
