Mack Welch Dalton

Mack Welch Dalton, beloved husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints died August 3, 2024, in Odessa Texas.

 

Mack was the son of Melburn and Maida (Welch) Dalton, descendants of Mormon pioneers. He was born on August 19, 1938, in Cowley, Wyoming. 

 

Mack graduated from Texas Western College, now the University of Texas at El Paso. He was a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) by profession and an entrepreneur - but his real love was cattle ranching and flying light aircraft. He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1963.

 

Mack is reunited in death with his parents, his brothers, Jack and Jim Dalton, and a younger sister, Mary Alice Dalton, who died shortly after her birth.

 

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Cheri Dalton; his two sons, Brett and wife Carol, Bart and wife Melissa; stepson, Spencer Crawford and wife Kim; stepdaughters, Julie Morton and husband Derrick, Shannon Crawford and wife Tammy Johnston; grandchildren, Jake and Riley Dalton, Konner and Karsyn Crawford, and Sam and Libby Morton; and a loving extended family of all ages.

 

A Celebration of Life service with military honors will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM at The Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, located at 2000 Mountain Parkway, Dallas, Tx 75211. Bishop Adam Bird from Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints Odessa 1st Ward officiating.

 

Mack’s family members would like to thank everyone and express our appreciation for all your cards, calls, messages, and expressions of love and support. 

 

Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to your favorite charity.
