Manuel Cerda

Manuel Cerda, age 93, of Odessa, Tx. passed away on July 19, 2014 after a brief illness.

Rosary will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 7 PM at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 24, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Reverend Frank Chavez officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Manuel was born in Bronte, Tx. to Tereso and Maria Cerda on December 5, 1921. He attended school in Bronte, Tx. and married Patricia Sanchez Carrillo on August 10, 1976 in Odessa, Tx.

Manuel worked for over twenty years as a truck driver and commercial painter for Silvas Inc. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Armed Forces.
Manuel is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters and his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Cerda.

Manuel is survived by his wife Patricia Cerda, his brother, Anastacho Cerda, nieces and nephews from Kansas, Lubbock, Ft. Worth, Austin and Hereford, Tx.

Pallbearers will be as follows: Gerardo Sanchez Cervantes, Manuel Medrano Sanchez, Odell Sandoval, Samuel Sandoval, Rudy Esquivel, Jesus Gonzalez, Ernesto Hernandez, Luis Gomez and Christian Gomez.
