ODESSA Maria Carrasco, passed away on July 31, 2008, after an eleven year battle with breast cancer. BRBR

She was born on November 6, 1948 in Chihuahua, Mexico. She was the eldest of four children. She married Amado Carrasco and moved to Odessa, TX in 1969. They had two children, Amado and Karime. She will be remembered for her extraordinary strength and the protection that the home she created with her husband offered to her family over the years.
Surviving are her husband Amado Carrasco; son Amado C. Carrasco and wife Dr. Paloma Martinez-Cruz from Chicago, ILL; daughter Karime Baker and husband Matthew from Odessa; grandchildren, Zachary Baker, Marissa Baker, Samantha Baker, and Emiliano Vargas; and siblings Gloria Cabello, Martin Cabello, and Martha Herrera. BR BRThe Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm, Sunday, August 3rd at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.BR BRServices will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, August 4th at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 2633 Conover Ave., Odessa with Father Emilio Sosa officiating with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.BR BRThe Carrasco, Baker, and Cabello families wish to express their heartfelt appreciation to the extended family, friends, neighbors, and organizations that have given of themselves so generously to ensure Marias comfort and tranquility throughout the course of her illness.
