Maria Teresa Cepero, 93, passed away quietly and peacefully on October 20, 2018, in Midland, Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Odessa, TX.
Maria was born on December 9, 1924, in Holguin, Cuba. She was one of eight children born to Tomas and Maria Guitian. She attended the University of Havana and became a pharmacist.
She married Rafael Cepero on April 30, 1953, in Havana, Cuba. Their marriage was a happy one and they were blessed with four children. Maria and Rafael along with their four children immigrated from Cuba to the United States in 1962. They lived in Topeka, Kansas; Flint, Michigan; and San Antonio, Texas, while Rafael repeated his pediatric residency. On July 1, 1966, they opened their pediatric practice in Odessa, Texas, where Maria was bookkeeper and receptionist.
Maria is preceded in death by her loving husband, Rafael Cepero, and beloved son, Daniel Cepero.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children and their families: George and Teresa Stiglich of McKinney, TX; Dick and Mary Belf of Waco, TX, Ralph and Pam Cepero of Midland, TX and Susan Cepero (wife of the late Daniel Cepero) along with six grandchildren (Jonathan, Jared, Michael Austin, Laurel, Evgenia, Robert John, Daniel and Madeline) and five great-grandchildren (William, Samuel, Sophie, Rhys and Ellie).
The Cepero family wants to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Hospice of Midland, Maria Adame and Martha Ramirez for their kind and loving care.
