Maria Isabel Molinar, 79, of Odessa passed away on September 2, 2023, in Odessa.
Visitation will be held 5 PM to 8 PM, Thursday, September 7, 2023, with a Recitation of the Rosary at 7 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home of Odessa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 8, 2023, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father Chavez officiating. A burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Maria Isabel was born in Palomas, Mexico, to Merced and Ventura Molinar. She was a longtime resident of Odessa. Maria was a loving mother to her five children and grandchildren. Maria was known for being a wonderful cook and she truly enjoyed cooking great meals for her family and friends. Many wonderful memories were shared amongst the family while having a meal in her kitchen. Prior to her illness she enjoyed gardening and going walking with her friends.
Maria is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Lourdes Briones; her grandson, Xander Guy Briones and his mother Melissa Annette Dominguez; her parents; and her siblings, Manuel Molinar and Aubina Garcia.
Maria is survived by her five children. They include her son, Jesus M. Briones; daughter, Myrta Aranda (Leo); grandsons, Antonio Villa, Elyceo Herrera; granddaughter and the absolute light of her life, Torie Erazo (Beto); great grandson, Sunny Erazo; daughter, Victoria Castillo (Fabian); grandsons, Elijah and Isaiah Cavallero; son, Francisco Briones (Lupita); grandson, Javier Briones; grandson, Michael Ramos; granddaughter, Erika Briones; son, Santos Briones; grandson, Dylan Quiroz.
Maria is survived by seven siblings. They include her sisters, Tomasa Dominguez, Guadalupe Sanchez (Tom), Consuelo Mendias, Mercedes Montes; brothers, Jose Ramon Molinar (Gloria), Rigoberto Molinar (Gloria)and Rogelio Molinar.
Maria is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she truly loved and enjoyed their visits.
The family of Maria wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the wonderful and compassionate nursing staff at Odessa Regional Medical Center. They would also like to thank Dr. Kodityal and Dr. Prasad for taking wonderful care of their beloved mother.
