Maria Elena Moncada Campos was born at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Odessa, Texas to Jose and Elena Campos in the fall of September 27, 1979. The young couple were delighted to welcome their first born into the family that included an environment filled with love, laughter, and the importance of an education. Maria Elena began her grammar school education at Saint Mary’s Central Catholic School before moving to Bowie Junior High and then Odessa High School. In high school, she was a member of many different clubs, but her involvement with the theater arts is one that will always be legendary. She had indeed formed lifelong friendships during high school, but it was her relationship with her future husband where their story could easily be turned into a successful teenage romance novel. Kevin and Maria Elena were shortly married after high school on August 20, 1999. In the early 2000s, Maria Elena continued her education by becoming a certified teacher with a major in English and a minor in Biology from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. In the fall of 2005, she began her teaching career with Ector County Independent School District. At the beginning of her career, she naturally became a master teacher where she always had a positive and ever-lasting impression on her students. Flash forward a few years, the importance of an education continued to weigh on her mind. To further improve herself, she completed the master program at the university with an interest of curriculum design in education. Maria Elena’s accomplishments throughout her lifetime is definitely commendable, but she believed the birth of her twin boys, John, and Harrison, is what truly defined her.
Maria Elena Campos Rimer is preceded in death by her Paternal Grandparents, Francisco and Leonarda Campos, and Maternal Grandparents, Luis Moncada and Lilia Moncada.
