Marianne Carroll Scott, age 65, of Odessa, TX, passed away on March 20, 2016 in Odessa.
Marianne was born in Colorado City, Texas to Warrine Christie and Edward Carroll on October 9, 1950. She went to school in Odessa, graduating from Ector High School. She married John Michael Scott on February 14, 1995. Marianne worked as a sales representative, selling lawn care for True Green Lawn Care Co. and also was the founder of The Permian Basin Oilfield Journal.
Before becoming ill, she attended church at Texas & Clements Church of Christ where she was warmly made to feel at home, was baptized, and practiced her faith for several years.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Reenie Christie Carroll; her father, Edward Partrick Carroll and her niece, Ronnie Dawn Hewitt.
Marianne is survived by her husband, John Michael Scott; her children, Latressa Coldwell, Carmella Coldwell, John Coldwell, Leann Bond Miller, Shaun Scott, Eleana Scott and fourteen grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Don Earl Fortner, Steve Discoll, Robert Reyes, Jacob Miller, T.J. Carroll and Chase Morales.
The family of Marianne wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the physicians and staff of Medical Center Hospital, to the congregation of Texas & Clements Church of Christ, and to all those who touched her life throughout the years.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 4:00 pm, Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Farrell Ard, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
