Marie Martin

Marie Kathyrine Martin, age 75, of Odessa, TX, passed away on December 26, 2015 in Odessa.

Marie was born on December 8, 1940 to George Hanez and Irene Sary Hanez in South Bend, Indiana. She spent her childhood in South Bend. She married John Martin on October 21, 1961. In January of 1967 they moved to Odessa and later opened a dog grooming business. She raised Shelties and Belgium Sheep dogs. She also was president of the West Texas Kennel Club. Marie loved to play golf at sunset and was a beloved member of the Ladies Golf Association. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Marie also was a great cook, specializing in Italian Cuisine.

Marie is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, John Martin; sister in law, Mary Benscis and nephews, Steve and Joel all of South Bend.

A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 2, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Father Mark Woodruff officiating.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff in ICU at Medical Center Hospital.
