Marie Whitaker

Marie Ella Whitaker, 60, entered the Kingdom of Heaven and met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, June 18, 2018.
Marie was born on January 18, 1958 in Denver, Colorado to Frances Severino and Clifton Islieb. Marie grew up in Aurora Colorado and Carlsbad New Mexico where she graduated from Carlsbad High School. Marie met her husband in Hobbs New Mexico. Jim and Marie were married 36 years and lived a beautiful life raising two boys and cherishing three grandchildren. Marie loved her family, music and poetry. On Sunday August 7, 2016 Marie committed her life to Christ and was baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ. Marie had a sincere love for Christ, worshipping and loving Jesus alongside her husband.
Marie is preceded in death by her mother Frances Severino, father Clifton Islieb and her younger brother Paul Islieb.
Marie is survived by husband Jim Whitaker, son Jeff Whitaker and spouse Jessica Whitaker, son James Whitaker, son Brett Roark, brother Richard Islieb and grandchildren Ethan, Noah & Creed Whitaker.
Viewing (9:00am) and Funeral service (10:00am) will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Life Challenge Church located at 4500 N. Grandview Ave. in Odessa with Pastor Dan Smelser officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Whitaker, Adrian Castaneda, Samuel Castaneda, Daniel Anaya, Saul Pacheco and Billy Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Marie to Global Missions in care of Life Challenge Church 4500 N. Grandview Ave. Odessa, TX 79762.
