Marie Wilkins

Marie Wilkins was called home by her Lord and Savior on April 29, 2022, after a long illness. She was born July 27, 1938, in Springer, New Mexico to John and Edith Hunter. Later, her family moved to Hereford, Texas where she graduated from high school in 1955. She married Leroy Wilkins in 1957 and started her family, having three children. After living in various Texas locations, she settled in Odessa in 1981. She became office manager of American Cancer Society from where she retired in 2005. She was an active member of Bethany Christian Church where she humbly served the Lord and volunteered much of her time.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Stella Hunter; her husband, Leroy Wilkins; and her son, Danny Wilkins. She is survived by her brother, Howard Hunter; her sister, Evelyn Meisenbach; her son, Michael Wilkins and his wife Cynthia; her daughter, Brenda Petersen; and four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
