Martha Langston

Martha Stanley Langston, age 93, was born August 28, 1928, at University Hospital in Little Rock, AR. She was called home to be with the Lord April 9, 2022, in Weatherford, TX.

Martha graduated from Glen Rose High School in Malvern, AR as salutatorian of her class of 1946. She attended Daughons Business College in Little Rock, AR. Martha was employed by Penn Mutual Insurance Co. in Little Rock, AR and American National Insurance Co. of Odessa, TX. She was Past President of The Texas Missionary Baptist Association and South District Ladies Auxiliary in West Texas.

Martha married Reverend Amon J. Langston on August 26, 1951, in Malvern, AR at Second Baptist Church. They celebrated 65 years of marriage. They had twin boys, Amon Dean and Raymond Gene, born June 4, 1955, in Seminole, TX.

Martha is survived by son, Amon Dean Langston and wife Carolyn of Orlando, FL; son, Raymond Gene Langston and wife Debbie of Weatherford, TX; grandchildren, Brandie Cobos and husband Thomas of Odessa, TX, Angela Pettiet and husband Brad of Orlando, FL, Alison Keene and husband Will of Orlando, FL, and Christopher Langston and wife Cindy of Jack, AL; great grandchildren, Austin Langston and wife Kristie of Rockport, TX, Cooper Langston of Rockport, TX, Haley Langston of Bristow, OK, Sami Langston of Bristow, OK, Cole Cobos of Odessa, TX, Gabe Cobos of Odessa, TX, Eli Cobos of Odessa, TX, Zeke Cobos of Odessa, TX, Christiana Langston of Jack, AL, Caelyn Langston of Jack, AL, Brantley Pettiet of Orlando, FL, Bryce Pettiet of Orlando, FL, and Paxton Keene of Orlando, FL; great-great grandchildren, Noah Langston of Rockport, TX; nephew, Larry Stanley and wife Judy of Texarkana, TX; nieces, DeRenda Kreisler of Mt. Vernon, AR, and Kathy Davis and husband Mike of North Little Rock, AR.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin Stanley and Pearl Blankenship Stanley; sisters, Patsy Green, and Betty Jo Kreisler; brothers, Frank Stanley, and Emerson Stanley; husband, Amon J. Langston of Odessa, TX; and grandson, Matthew Gene Langston of Bristow, OK.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, April 15, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Pastors Wally Schiwart and Craig Beaman officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
